BioSonics offers training for all levels of user experience. You can choose to attend one of our Hydroacoustic Assessment Workshops, or we can bring the training to your location – either in the classroom or on the job. Fisheries & Aquatic Habitat Assessment Workshop

Our workshops are held at our company headquarters in Seattle, Washington. The course content includes a review of hydroacoustic theory as well as practical training and tips for echo sounder operation, field calibration, and transducer mounting. Combining lecture, demonstrations, laboratory exercises, and a mobile survey on Lake Washington, our workshops provide an overview of the latest techniques for hydroacoustic data collection and processing.

  • Echo sounder Operation and Mobile Survey on Lake Washington
  • Physics of Sound in Water and Principles of Hydroacoustics
  • Fisheries and Plankton Assessment
  • Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV), Bottom Classification, Bathymetry Assessment, and Mapping
  • Survey Design and Case Studies
  • Software Overview, Data Processing, Analysis, and Reporting Techniques

Registration

Registration and payment of the enrollment fee reserves your space in the class. The enrollment fee includes tuition and all course materials. Space is limited. We accept Visa and MasterCard.

Cancellation Policy

A full refund is made if you notify us at least two (2) weeks prior to the start of the course. Cancellations made after that date and not later than five (5) working days prior to the course are subject to a 20% cancellation fee. If the registered participant is unable to attend, we will admit a substitute. If you cancel or reschedule on any of the five working days prior to class, on or after the first day of class, or do not attend the class, the class fee is non-refundable.

Accommodations

Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging arrangements. A list of nearby hotels will be provided with your registration packet.
